Add a touch of refinement to your freshwater aquarium with our Snow Amano Shrimp (Caridina multidentata). Renowned for their pristine white coloration and engaging behavior, these shrimp are a captivating addition for both novice and seasoned aquarists. Notably, initially recognized as Caridina japonica, Caridina multidentata underwent a name change in 2006 following a comprehensive study. Contrary to the common belief that Amano shrimp can subsist solely on aquarium algae, this assumption is inaccurate. Our Snow Amano shrimp are specifically bred to showcase this striking coloration, ensuring a unique and visually stunning addition to your aquatic environment.

    Note on Size:
The Snow Amano Shrimp, like the standard Amano Shrimp, undergo a complex larval developmental stage that makes production both slow and labor-intensive. This striking color variant has been selectively bred over time, and only a small number of breeders are currently producing it. Due to the limited availability and high demand, our supplier is often only able to provide smaller-sized individuals. While these shrimp may arrive smaller than typical Amano Shrimp, they are healthy, active, and will continue to grow and thrive under proper aquarium conditions.

    • Scavenger that feeds continually. Requires very little feeding in a well-established aquarium containing algae, biofilm, or decaying plant matter. In less mature aquariums, high quality dry foods with high plant content can be fed multiple times daily.
    • Aquatic Arts Snowflake Premium Shrimp Food & Aquatic Arts Pollen Granules Premium Shrimp Food are excellent supplements to the diet of any shrimp. Give them a try and your shrimp will thank you for the tasty treat!
    • Natural Botanicals are a great way to boost the immune system of your shrimp and they will also provide lots of essential biofilm for the shrimp to graze on.
